For those interested,  the autobiographies of Doris Day, Debbie Reynolds and Maureen O'Hara, among others, detail the loss of large personal fortune due to spousal mismanagement. 

Debbie,  in particular,  was left in such enormous debt that it led to her Las Vegas career for income to pay off the obligations.

How sad. I knew about Doris Day and Debbie Reynolds having huge debts. But did not realize about Maureen O'Hara and Esther Williams had the same trouble.

Guess that explains why Esther Williams was making movies while she was pregnant and months after having the baby. 

Glad they wrote autobiographies. Will have to read them.

So glad you mentioned it - My son bought the Maureen O'Hara autobiography for my birthday. Can't wait to read it. Enjoyed watching her interviews.

He also bought me a book written by Eddie Muller.
