Beecham House Just Isn't Getting It For Me!

Finally got around to Masterpiece's Beecham House last night, and I'm just not eager to watch the other episodes to catch up.

Was anyone else uninspired with this miniseries?

I really liked the first episode but find the second and third episodes are just lacking something.

I am going to try to watch the entire first series because nothing else in on that I want to see.  I can understand why they did not make a second series.

@ECBG  Week 1 wasn’t enough to get me back for more.

Still hanging in because I like Lesley Nicol (the former Mrs. Patmore). She is a good actress and an active proponent of animal rights.

The show itself is just ok; hoping it will get better.

I watched the first episode and part of second then gave up -  didn’t work for me - very mediocre.

I am enjoying the series but than I always enjoy Masterpiece Theater offerings.  Yes, it may not be as good as so many other series but for me the settings and acting hold my interest.    I also liked Indian Summers which wasn't a popular series but I enjoyed it.  The Jewel and the Crown was excellent and had the India, English theme.

Compared to what is available on TV, especially the reality shows, Beecham House is a go for me.

I had high hopes for this series, but it's not holding my interest.

There's another thread about the show and while there are a few who are enjoying it, the consensus seems to be this is yet another Masterpiece bust, more style than substance and too slow moving to be compelling. Personally, I agree. I also find the always busy screen with the 'cast of thousands' sort of nerve wracking. I might try to stick with it, given there aren't that many episodes, but I'm thinking it's probably a good thing they reportedly didn't renew it.

I like it. I've only seen one episode (last week) but will continue to watch and figure out what's going on. I like shows about India-no idea why, lol.
