I remember watching it years ago and never forgot it. I thought it was a beautiful and touching film especially since based on a true story.

I'm watching it again right now.

I've forgotten the early years of his life, though I can watch something last week and forget what I saw!

Thaks so much for mentioning itSmiley Happy

I saw it when it was first released. I enjoyed it.

Re: Anyone see "The Butler"

[ Edited ]

I don't like to watch the many abuses and sad things of our nations history or those of any wars, especially WW1 and 2. To know of it all is to never forget.

Though I did watch Roots along with so many all over the country and I'm glad I did though could never watch it again.

I do agree @Venezia, Hidden Figures was wonderful!

And though hard to watch at times, the courage shown by those that stood up and risked their lives for what would hope to happen is astounding and so heroic. I don't know that I could have done what they did. Yet when young especially, sometimes it means everything to stand up for what is right and what you believe, no matter what!

There will always be hate. Those that stand up against it we can never forget.

"The Butler" shows so many things I lived through as did everyone in our country at those times. I remember marching against the Vietnam war and getting pepper sprayed on campus. Thinking about all the racial abuse hurts to see it.

I still think it is one of the best movies made.
