Forgot to mention Republic of Doyle.
Canadian actor Allan Hawco plays a private eye whose business is with his family. The show is smart and funny and doesn't take itself too seriously.
In one of the later seasons Sarah Power (Good Witch) is in a few episodes.
The Newfoundland scenery is featured beautifully.

I haven't seen her other roles, but I did love its star, Raclelle Lefevre, in Stephen King's The Dome.

A Place to Call Home. Australian series set in NSW Australia after WWII. Excellent series, 6 seasons, takes place over 4 decades.
Therese Raquin. Starring Kate Nelligan, Brian Cox and Alan Rickman. 3 part series. Based on Emile Zola's novel. BBC productioned aired on PBS back in the early 80s.

I watch Acorn more than any other channel. But I am getting to the point where there aren't too many new shows being shown. I tend to watch 'who done it' shows, family drama and foreign language shows There are many that I have really enjoyed. Some are -
