I felt like the ending left us hanging on how things would end up working out in a society such as Amsterdam of that time period.  I wanted to know how Nella handled all the stuff fell into her lap, from the sugar to the baby & how that baby would be viewed in that very rigid society.

    I finally watched the third episode. 

    I liked seeing the miniature items, I liked that the  show was a good resemblance of the age...'period film". I liked Nella and the house help and did actually like Johannes. 

    But I hated the ending!  Hated being left with questions; hated that we did not really learn much about the miniaturist; hated that so many scenes were filmed in almost complete darkness. (I know that there was no electricity, but some scens were black!!)

    Really a strange show....may read the book!!

Agree, the dark scenes were impossible to get much information from.  Yes, they didn't have electricity then but we do now and the cameras could have taken advantage of that for the viewers.....

Overall, I enjoyed it especially because of the doll house and the costumes. The settings were wonderful. The actors were very good. The plot not so great......the first episode promised more than the two last episodes delivered.

It was different and I liked that. If there is a sequel I'd probably watch.

My thoughts are that there will be a sequel, so they left this season open.

i hope they do have a sequel.
