Re: Anybody watching Golden Bachelor?

Yes, and I am really enjoying it!  Gerry is a catch, and the vibe is different from the 'regular' Bachelor/Bachelorette shows.  I hope they wil do a Golden Bachelorette next.

Nope.  Not even remotely interested in those types of shows.

Me neither, but I passed it and stayed on the last 15 minutes. OMG such drivel.

Re: Anybody watching Golden Bachelor?

It's all a set up to entertain folks, especially the middle aged and seniors.

It will be telling when gals in their 60's and so forth start trends on dating to find 'true love'.

Re: Anybody watching Golden Bachelor?

I know they have to try and be entertaining for t.v., but so much of this is just so over the top!  I know everyone is different but I could never put myself in a position like these women.  They are acting like they are already in love with him.  Please!  They are not 16 years old, for goodness sake!  It's cringeworthy!  I thought the man seemed like he was a nice man, but really, he is seeming just too, too nice -- but then again --- it IS t.v.!  But all that aside, it would be nice for him if he really would find a sincere, kind and real woman out of these women to have a committed and lasting relationship with.

@Glittergal I just watched the first two episodes and really liked it.  I was impressed they stuck with woman 60 and older.  I can't believe it took this long for the networks to try this.  I have a 24 year old daughter and 28 year old son and they don't watch regular TV.  I am pretty sure the average age of people watching network TV right now is over 50.  I don;t want to watch the regular 25 year old bachelor contestants.

I am hoping with the success of the show they will  try it with 50+ year olds.  I think it would be interesting to do a "Love is Blind" with over 50 group.

I am 63 and none of these women reminded me of myself.  Maybe we will see their more normal selfs as it goes on.  I definitely think he will pick someone that is a widow.  He seems like a good guy.

Gerry seems like a very nice man but after watching the first two shows, I'm really wondering if he is ready to fall in love again. He still seems very fragile and still totally in love with his wife.

Re: Anybody watching Golden Bachelor?

As he was driving down an LA fwy with no headlights all I could think is there better be the tv crew around him and escorting him otherwise he is one incredible moron because I've got to believe, LA or not, when your headlights go out on a fwy if you have half a brain you get off the fwy.

These women are all lovely IMO but it is interesting to see how much hair can camouflage age.  One of the women looked a good ten years older with her hair off her face for the photo dress-up portion.

I though he and the woman that he was in the car with when the headlights were out seemed to have a good connection.  But I did fall asleep after that and did not see any connection he may have had with anyone else.

It will be interesting to see if he goes for a dark-haired woman since his wife was dark-haired.  From the pics she seemed to be an every woman kind of gal rather than the dyed, botoxed kind of gal so it will be interesting to see which he seems to gravitate towards.

@speedy girl , I have a friend who recently lost his wife.  Very fragile and very in love with his wife but quickly started dating again and looking for somebody to share his life with.  Now in a very serious relationship.  Whether he has fallen in love or found somebody to fill the void of his loss I am not sure.

Re: Anybody watching Golden Bachelor?

I didn't see a bat wing or one speck of cottage cheese on any thighs of those women. Several wore shorts and low cut tops. Attractive and interesting ladies. I really don't think that they are representative of the majority of women his age. But I will keep watching to see how it ends. I really like Faith, but reality Steve said that she was the last one to go. I wish them all well.
