Anybody Watching the Oscars?

I liked Chris Rock's opening monologue. It was funny, biting and true.

I didn't care for the guy singing the song from the James Bond movie.

So far, I haven't seen any horrible gowns.

What do you think of the Oscars so far?

Re: Anybody Watching the Oscars?

I like Chris Rock a lot.  I think he's funny and I like the references he's making.

However, it is getting a bit repetitive.  The thing that bothers me is that it takes away (in my opinion) from the people who are up for the Academy Awards to be constantly referring to this.

It isn't their fault what is going on.  That's what it is going to be known as.  Unfortunately.  These actors deserve to have the accolades awarded to them.

That guy singing was Sam Smith.

Chris Rock is good tonight. Love the gowns.  Sam Smith is one of my favorite singers.

Show ok so far. A little slow but they usually are.

Just hope Leo finally wins tonight.  So overdue

So far I am liking it too!  Not too many fashion faux pas so far!

The only thing I don't care for is when the winners make political statements in their speeches.

The other thing I don't care for is if someone wins and they have nothing prepared to say. It is the biggest award they can get in their field and they don't prepare? Crazy!

Totally agree with all you wrote.   Chris Rock was very funny.

Not a fan of Sam Smith.

Lady Gaga gets my vote for best dressed.

I think they are kind of boring so far.   Not sure I like crawler with thank you's.   Everyone was raving about Theron's dress, I don't like it at all.

I also liked the dress of the girl who won Best Supporting Actress, the cute yellow dress.

Re: Anybody Watching the Oscars?

@QVCkitty1 I agree with you.  What I'm saying is that unfortunately it isn't the fault of the people who were nominated and especially the winners.

I said it needed to be said and I agree with him.  But I think it doesn't need to go through the entire show.  That's what I'm saying.  Perhaps it won't.  The night is young.

Too bad the Stacy Dash (and her presence) went over most people's heads.  I don't think they realized what he was saying there.  I don't think many of these 'stars' are all that bright.

It was clever and very brave of her to come out there on the stage like that.  It was also very good that they didn't boo her.  I think they didn't boo her because it went over their heads.

I think she is a lovely young woman and has a right to her opinion, as everyone does.
