I have been watching a mini-marathon of this show (it's on Animal Planet), and it is an interesting show.
All of these little microscopic parasites and organisms that can wreck havoc on the body is surprising.
Patients go see a doctor with flu-like symptoms, (which can cover a multitude of illnesses), and the doctor sends them home with pills.
Symptoms worsen, and they see a specialist, who diagnoses the patient with some rare disease.
Right now it's about a little boy who was diagnosed with valley feaver.
The boy lived.
But do you watch this show?

I L.O.V.E. this show.
I’ve told everyone around me, if I’m on my death bed
w/ only 3 words to speak, it’s not going to be ‘I Love You’ but..
“Check For Parasites!!”

I find this program to be totally revolting. It's right up there with Andrew Zimmer's program where he circles the globe looking for disgusting food to eat.

There’s a sense of relief when I see the person affected is telling the story.
There was an episode about a little boy, but he wasn’t on camera telling the story. At the end, we find out he passed away. Not always a happy ending.

Andrew Zimmern:
There was an episode (10/14/2008..just checked) where he went out to Los Angeles to the ‘lesser known’ eateries.
He first went to Ani Phyo, who is a raw food chef. She fixed dehydrated beet burgers, cashew lasagna..all of her famous dishes & foods which are raw vegan. He hesitated with everything, but complimented her.
Next place the chef was slow cooking a baby piglet in goose fat. Oh. My. Gosh. Of course, Andrew took one bite & rolled his eyes back in total ecstasy...and when on & on about the pure bliss of the goose fat. All I thought was...’seriously dude, you eat this but hesitate with vegetables?’
