This is kinda funny to me as I record and watch daily all of the old episodes of ER on POP on Dish. Just last week I watched the series in which she played fake Dr. Amanda Lee who was fixated on Dr. Mark Green! 

I don't think there's a thing wrong with eloping.  I wish them well, not that they'll ever know what a bunch of strangers think!

Just saw him in  Inventing Anna and had not seen him in anything in years. He was married to a makeup artist. she had her own line and sold it to Estee Lauder. Mare has been in a few things over the past few years. I like them both.

I dont know him as well, but I think Mare is an excellent actress, and have seen her in quite a bit....I read the article yesterday, and was very happy for them both!!!

I knew he was familiar in Inventing Anna but had to look up the cast to be sure.

Congratulations to the couple!  In the same situation I would elope.

I think the OP was misleading. They have not been in a relationship for 35 years, and their adult children are from previous marriages. Not sure they would be classified as 'friends with benefits.'

I too, couldn't place 'Alan Reed' on Inventing Anna, I knew he looked familiar, he was also in the TV series ER as Dr. Mark Greene.  Best wishes to both Anthony Edwards and Mare Winningham, who is also a great talent.
