A Carol for 2 was pretty nice, but My Sweet Austrian Holiday was pretty bad---same old plot. I actually couldn't finish watching it. Maybe they shouldn't have 3 new movies every week and concentrate on fewer, better movies.

Hallmark or Great American, an actual good one is a rarity. Hallmark seems to get consistently worse, while Great American doesn't seem to get any better.

We always say the movies are all same . . . only the setting and the faces change . . .

I felt the opposite. A Carol for 2 wasn't for me, but I like Will Kemp a lot, so the Austrian movie was great. I do prefer him with Lacey Chabert though.

You can only write the same plot so many ways. All they do is change actors and scenery.

Apparently a new Executive VP (Lisa Hamilton) has said that she doesn't want the "older" actors like Lacey Chabert to be cast.  She feels they need new, younger versions of her.  Holly Robinson-Peete was deemed "too expensive" and "too old to be playing leading lady roles".

Hallmark is currently being sued for ageism violations.  Happens everywhere.  I often stop watching the new movies after 10 or 15 minutes.

It's only my opinion, but the "older" actors knew how to act and the older writers knew how to write without it becoming stale and predictable.

Some of the new "younger" actors express all the emotional depth of a cardboard cutout.  And I appreciate that they're not being given very good material to work with.  I can only take so much giggly, slapstick, "isn't that funny" contrived storylines.

Thankfully, some of the older films are still shown.

I really like Will Kemp a lot too.   Was glad they had him dance a smidge.

First saw him with an American accent on Girlfriend's Giude to Divorce where he played a very bizarre funny character.

@rockygems123  That's what I like about Will Kemp; he's such a versatile actor and a wonderful dancer.

Between Hallmark Channels and the Great American Channel I have quite a few movies recorded. If I can't get into it within 10 minutes then I delete. I watch more than I delete.
