It's what the networks do. They happen across a marginally successful show and then proceed to franchise it, almost like the Real Housewives, so that before you know it, other than simple minded reality TV, virtually their only offerings are a few unfunny sitcoms and multiple semi-different versions of Law and Order, CSI, FBI, NCIS, FBI, and so on...
