It is a rainy Sunday afternoon here, and I just finished watching this movie ........ I had never seen it nor read the book, but I heard of it for years! It was so nice to watch a good wholesome, movie on TV for once!

I LOVE this series! I picked up the set of books at a local library book sale. They look brand new like no one bothered to check them out. Smiley Sad

If you liked Anne of Green Gables, look for the Anne of Avonlea movie. There are six books about Anne by Lucy Maud Montgomery.

It's a nice movie isn't it Hooty? I live right next to Prince Edward Island in Nova Scotia. Anne of Green Gables is a huge tourism draw for PEI. The Japanese are crazy about this story. You can now reach PEI by bridge from New Brunswick. Nova Scotia still uses a ferry for travel back and forth to PEI. Not sure Anne would be very happy about the bridge. It's around twenty years old. PEI, Nova Scotia and New Beunswick make up Canada's Maritime Provinces, all surrounded by ocean. My east coast trivia for today.

There are a series of shows about Anne. All like the movie. I loved the lady that played her adoptive mother.

My late mother and I watched this on PBS in the early '90's. Makes me happy and sad at the same time.

When my girls were younger we watched the Disney series. We loved it! A relative of my sister toured Prince Edward Island. Lucky gal. She even brought back an Anne doll! So cute! Glad you enjoyed it Hooty.

I haven't read the books but I've seen the series more than once. Love those types of movies. Usually our PBS channel shows them. I call them my warm, fuzzy, no stress or violence movies.
