And Just Like That, Peloton stocks drop

[ Edited ]
Spoiler
11% after the death of a major character . Kind of silly , because the character could have died from any strenuous excercise , but they died using a peloton bike. I am surprised they  aren't sueing the show , since the bike was very prominent in the show.

They wouldn't stand a chance suing. The character and what happened are completely fictional.

because the bike should have had a computer saying his heart rate was too high

and he is on that other show   I didn't like the way they killed off his character

I don't own a Peleton bike or their stock and I have never seen any show, but their stock has been in trouble for a long time now according to a number of analysts I have heard.  Maybe that's why that script detail?

The stock market is very fickle.

It was a fictional character.  I'm sure Pelotin won't  suffer for very long.

Their stock is probably dropping as people leave their homes to return to their offices. New purchases will drop off I'd think.

It seems silly they'd be so concerned about a SATC episode. But, I can see why Peloton is worried over this 'fictional' show, and its fallout.

They've been trying to address issues with safety after a number of treadmill belt injuries. Maybe even a death? I think there are law suits underway.

They've been working to correct issues and avoid any further negative publicity. They may feel their brand (product placement) was deliberate.

And, maybe it was. But, I imagine they just chose high end, costly equipment, for this character. He wouldn't likely be on a budget exercise bike from Walmart.

I never liked Mr. Big anyway. Carrie should have married someone else.

Peloton hit the jackpot with covid. Sales skyrocketed as people were stuck inside and their gyms were closed.

Ebbs and flows as my Econ teacher would say

What a ridiculous response to a tv show!  The idea that people's opinion can be swayed by a fictional tv script speaks to a whole level of stupidity.  You can experience a cardiac arrest while sleeping and die.
