American Idol question - SPOILER.....

On last night's show where they vote off one contestant, why did they have Charlie and Audra come back and sing again? I even went back and watched that part again and just didn't get it. Am I missing something? I thought they had the top ten - why do they need someone else?

Also, my DVR clicked off at the end last night and I missed out on what happened. Who was chosen to come back - Charlie or the girl?
