Were you satisfied with the ending and what is your explanation of what happened?

I was satisfied. I didn't really care for this season.

LOL - only one response must say what everyone thought of the finale!
I appreciate that these are one season stories, but I feel like the endings are always rushed. This season especially really didn't seem to have a focus and drifted all over the place. Yes, I get it - the real freaks are the people who appear normal.
This was especially unusual. I assume spoilers are okay going forward - everyone died pretty much at the beginning of the show (or, as the recap I read said - everyone but the big name stars). I'm okay that Jimmy/Bette & Dot had a happy ending and that Desiree ended up a mother and married to Malcolm Jamal Warner. But, what I forgot, and was likely why Ryan Murphy spent the last 1/2 of the show on Elsa, was that this was Jessica Lange's last season. It was his good bye and happy ending for her.
It will be interesting to see what he does next year as he has more (and what seems like similar) shows coming out. I think on HBO and Fox?? Ryan Murphy doesn't do multi-tasking very well.
I did have a random thought - did all of the season's have "happy" endings? Murder House everyone was dead but together in the afterlife. "Asylum" - how did it end for everyone? I know the reporter wrote a book and murdered the killer, but I think Evan Peter's character and Jessica Lange's had a reconciliation? "Coven" - Sarah Paulsen is the new supreme and Jessica Lange is dead - but in an afterlife with the one she loves (didn't sound so bad to me!) and now "Freak Show", with another happy ending for all. Seems like the "American...Story" is surrounded by "Horror", but everyone ends up okay in the end.

I didn't watch until last night, so I couldn't open the thread.
I don't know - it was pretty weird. I don't even mean AHS, Freak Show weird. But it was - I don't know. A lot of stuff sure happened!
It was quite amusing all the updates they showed on those who survived. I enjoyed that. I guess the whole thing with JL's character dying on stage seemed appropriate and then it was kind of cool how she met up with the others. I think I expected one more scene that showed she was actually in some heIIish place and meeting up with the others who died would have been just a hallucination she had before she landed somewhere awful.
I also wanted to see more of those b&w scenes they showed. I went back and put it on slow motion but you couldn't see a whole lot.
Previous to her demise, I expected to see her in the insane asylum or something. Maybe that IS where she ended up but then when she died I figured that is where she would ACTUALLY turn up and spend her days in some sort of hallucinatory state.

I agree with you. I've watched every season even though I am not a horror fan. Still like the 1st season with the Haunted House the best. But I keep getting sucked in. I will keep watching until AHS is no more. Just find it fascinating but Freak Show was freaky. lol

I've always been a huge fan of American Horror Story, but about half way though this season I gave up on it because I thought it was just that bad and did not feel it would get any better. I did finish it through to see what happened, but in general this season was a huge dissapointement. There were so many problems with it I don't know where to begin lol. I hope next years show is better.

I also gave up on this season midway into it - just couldn't get into it. Last seaosn The Coven was my fav.
