In January the head of NBC said there was a 60/40 chance DAYS would be renewed.  When he said that he had to have known about the change in writers, as NBC probably demanded it.

They just came back from two months off from taping in order to shorten the tape-to-air time. 

The new writers' stuff if they don't throw out what's already been taped (and that would be unprecedented, but hey, I wish they would) starts in July.

The show is only renewed through September.

@LoriLori  -  Even though we all poke fun at how stupid the show has been, I'd be super sad if Days gets cancelled.  It's been a part of my life for so long.  I wish the stories would get better and they'd ship all the teens away.  I don't watch any other soaps, but do the other soaps have a group of teens?

Interesting that "Sweetness" and "Doc" are both in Praque. Seems like Salem Hospital doesn't have many doctors to begin with and they both can just take off at the same time.

@RetRN  Not to mention that "Sweetness" is also Chief of Staff,  is a Specialist in "head to toe" surgery and just up and left to go to Prague???  Who takes her place at the hospital?  Valerie perhaps?

Doc probably had to cancel her patient (if she even had one this month).

I still think Holly looks like Chad.  Why don't they give her a binky when she cries???  Her crying was annoying when Maggie was holding her.  It was hard to hear what Chloe was saying.  I thought that baby would never stop crying.

@sophiamarie  Yeah, Kayla up and left to attend to a flesh wound on Steve's arm. Marlena should have told her he's fine, I'll keep checking on him and keep you apprised. I hope doc's ''patient'' up and found another shrink. And found out why they ever went to Marlena in the first place.

@Judaline  You got that right.  You would think she would stick around to follow-up on her patient.  I mean, if you go to a shrink, what happens when you need him/her???  Who is her replacement when she goes on manhunts anyway???  Is there even another shrink in Salem Hospital???

Talking about the lack of doctors on the show, whatever happened to Finn?  About a year ago I thought he might become a love interest of Nicole.

@AuntG  All I remember about Finn is he had a thing for Kayla. When they were hot on the trail of Joey, he kissed her. She of course being Kayla, shall we say 'rebuffed his advances' and he took a job out of town I believe!
