Okay, so in no particular order, here's some scoop from Saturday night's event --
As you can see, it was a few of our Salemites plus Jacob Young. I think he's on (or was on) GH and/or Bold & Beautiful, I don't really know. He probably was there due to a cancellation by one of our other Salemites. This was the photo op that came as part of my ticket. Each celeb's table was set with their framed photo, and there was no way of knowing where the celeb would be sitting. Each celeb had a minimum of two "sponsors" - those are the diehard, over-the-top fans who think they're family - it costs them typically upwards of $1000 per sponsor which only gives them more time with the celebs, usually at a dinner the night before and a quick b'fast the morning after, no big whoop to me. I have other bills I need to pay so...
Nadia is teeeeeny tiny and very tall. She looked absolutely stunning. As luck would have it, the random seat I took at my empty table happened to be a good spot - she sat two seats away so we were able to chat. Here's something interesting - she lives in Charleston, SC and has to pay her own airfare to get to the studio! I almost fell over. The actresses have no control over wardrobe and agreed with me that they should occasionally appear "real life." She said the actresses have discussed that with the powers that be and were shot down because, get this, "...male viewers like to see them all dolled up." She said the show was very chauvinistic. I told her how I watch background stuff and keep my eyes on nails. She said there are times that scenes are taped three weeks apart so you can spot differences in their hair and nails! She said Continuity is not very good on the show. She said she's done scenes knowing that her nail color is different so she keeps her hands in her pockets. She is very good friends with Stacey Haiduk and often apologize in advance if they have a scene that requires them to yell at one another! I asked how she remembers all her lines. She said she thinks she has a pretty good photographic memory and thinks that, like any other muscle, you just train your brain. She thinks her 7 year old son, Torin, has that ability, too. I'll get back to more on Chloe as I think.
Eric Martsolf was a hit again. He's done so many of these events so he knows how to work a crowd. He was very friendly and even remembered me. I caught him alone for a few minutes and asked him why he just doesn't tell Chloe to go along with the whole Kristen thing. He agreed and said, "the writers are so stupid" and that would "make perfect sense." He was wearing a watch that was not the one he wears on the show. He explained the Rolex was a gift from Justin Hartley who gave it to him because it was made the same year Eric was born (1971). I asked what they were taping now, and all he said was, "you won't believe it, you're gonna be shocked."
<3 Rob Wilson <3. OMG Rob Wilson. Dreamy. Swoony. He said he liked playing Ben and likes Alex even better. I agreed. I have some other photos that I may post later if I can figure it out again, but I did touch his abs in one! I asked about his tattoos -- the one on his shoulder says, "the only son" and it's in his Mother's handwriting. We literally sat back to back at the tables and were arm to arm when we both were turned in our seats. My choice of seats was totally awesome! He sat on his phone a lot which I thought was kinda rude cuz people at his table paid money and he was distracted. He vaped inside. At one point, all of the guys turned into middle school boys. More in a minute.
Brandon Barasch. Nice, quiet, walked around often with a drink his hand. One woman at his table probably thought she'd be going back to his hotel with him based on how she kept chasing him. He is very buff and barrel-chested. Told me he enjoyed playing both characters but Stefan just a bit more.
Jacob Young. Very nice, very appreciative of everyone being there. I wish I knew more about him. He looked a lot like Brad Pitt.
Back to Nadia. We had some wine and dinner. She ate a bit of chicken saltimboca and asparagus while we chatted. There were others at the table also talking but in my mind I was wishing them away. One lady knew her 4th grade teacher, Mrs. Toricci, so they were yakking about that. Then, at one point, she kinda walked away, no one knew where she went. When she returned, I hate to say this, it seemed like she was "on" something or maybe just super tired. She wasn't perky and chatty anymore. Her eyes looked watery and she speaking rather slowly. She just seemed different.
Meantime, part of the event was an auction. Eric brought some stuff (an old CD of him singing from 25 years ago), and vendors donated baskets. One baskets was some Disney stuff including Mickey and Minnie stuffed animals. Well, at one point, maybe it was the alcohol, but Brandon Barasch was getting pretty foul with the dolls. He had them in all sorts of positions saying bidding would start at 69 dollars, etc. Eric thought it was funny, too, and began saying that we should bid on the mens cologne so that our guys' b a l l s don't stink. That went on for a while and it wasn't really funny. Rob laughed out loud at it a lot. Considering the crowd, I think the night went off course.
At the end of the night, I took the 8x10 photo that I posted and had each of the celebs autograph it for me.
The celebs stayed in a Holiday Inn nearby to the venue and flew in and out on their own. They all arrived on Friday night and left Sunday. Eric's flight left at
