Re: All Creatures Great and Small

Love this program. Wish it was on for another hour. Goes by so fast. Miss Scarlet is good too but dislike the way they film it with a smokey background. Bothers my eyes.

That's exactly right. It flies by! And so do the 6 weekly episodes. (I think it's 6). Too few whatever the number!

I wonder if maybe "Tristan" is off making a new Durrell's episode??? Works for me if he is.

It's been so long ago & I'm not sure if I actually watched it all, but in the 70's version of the series, did Tristan go off to fight in WWII?

Re: All Creatures Great and Small

I love how caring they are about the animals.

Back in the 40's and 50's, don't ever remember going or hearing about vets for animals.  I lived in SF.  If our dog had worms, my dad gave it a clove of garlic.  It cured the dog.

Today we know, garlic not good for dogs.  It cured the dog.

I just wish the vets I have encounted after covid are as concerned.  On my third one since Nov.  Seems all they want is money.

I love this program and wish, except for the war, people were still caring about each other and honest.

I know its a program, but I grew up back then and we had problems, but people were more caring on the whole.

TV programs were a time to laugh and gather together as a family. Not like today's programs, with violence.  No one sits together after dinner, let alone having dinner together.

Sorry, but everything a mess today with families, not all, but most.

This program calms me, because not much I can watch at my age that doesn't upset me.  I like PBS.

Re: All Creatures Great and Small

If you're a fan of All Creatures Great & Small, you might enjoy watching a YouTube channel called The Hoof GP.  It's a young guy named Graeme Parker & the guys that work for him trimming dairy cow's hooves on farms in SW Scotland.  The scenery is stunning & he's a charming guy.  I certainly never thought I'd enjoy watching a guy trimming cow's hooves, but he has over 2 million subscribers, so he's doing something right!

This is Graeme:

Love this show, like i have said before watched back in England in the early 70's, the British are the best at producing movies, and tv shows.

When you lose some one you L~O~V~E, that Memory of them, becomes a TREASURE.
