 The news reported that Alec Baldwin's trial would begin today,  but now I am told the motions were today. The trial is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, July 10 after jury selection tomorrow.

So many questions about this unfortunate accident. Baldwin could face 18 months in jail if convicted of 2nd degree manslaughter.

The comments I have seen about an affair, etc may have just been put out there to try and get a first degree motive or something, but only the jury will get to decide his guilt. Baldwin was front and center in court today; he doesn't want to miss a thing! I don't think the money the family has received will be looked at as real justice for their loss.

@Trailrun23   I watched the motions on Court TV.  There was no meniton of an "affair."  Who was Alec having an affair with?

Source of these comments?

From CNN:

In a significant victory for the defense, Alec Baldwin’s role as a producer on the film “Rust” will not be considered during his involuntary manslaughter trial in the fatal on-set shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer ruled Monday.

Baldwin’s position as a producer has consistently been part of the prosecution's strategy as they have sought to show he had more responsibility and influence on the set than just as an actor. In court Monday, the prosecution said as producer he should have been aware of set safety requirements, while Baldwin’s defense said this evidence was prejudicial and confusing to the jury.

The source of the comments about an affair are on the other thread about Baldwin. You sould be able to see them very easily. I take it you are offended but not sure why.

@Trailrun23   Offended?  Smiley LOL

It's just that I have never heard or read about an "affair" from any legit news outlet or gossip news site.  Reason why I asked for your source.

@Mz iMac

The article I read implying an affair (I believe it described a possible "love triangle" and it was so long ago.

The article was probably a sensationalized-type of article, but the person who was quoted as "speculating" was actually one of the cast members or associate producers.

More than likely THIS WAS GOSSIP FROM (WHO KNOWS?)

SO I'D CONSIDER THIS GOSSIP ONLY AND NOT WORTHY OF FURTHER CONSIDERATION...

unless the trial brings out further information.

Re: Alec Baldwin Trial

[ Edited ]

The armorer is already in jail for 18 months after she was found guilty....the prosecutors are hoping for the same for Baldwin. They are selecting jurors today. They have a witness who saw him pull the trigger and a video.  Baldwin is insisting on taking the stand in his own defense. The attorneys I have heard comment on this says it's a big mistake for him to do that. I have two attorneys in the family and they agree he shouldn't take the stand.

Since the trial is happening in Santa Fe, it's unlikely you can call the jury a "jury of his peers". They may be skeptical of a Hollywood actor coming in and killing someone and then saying he never pulled the trigger. Do you think he has a chance of acquittal?
