Watched "Film Noir" today(I recorded it) Alan Ladd was one of stars. I see now why he was so popular. The film (I think) This Gun fo rHire was what Julie Harris was going to watch when Columbo showed up at her house in any "Port in a Storm".

 In this "Film Noir" William Bendix played an awful person. I kept telling him "wait till Peg finds out".

DId you all know Jackie Gleason tried out for the part on the "Life of Reilly"? Or was it "Any Storm in a Port"?

I had no idea who Alan Ladd was until I was in my 20's. He had an insurance policy with the company where I worked. It was quite a thick file. Never forgot him after that.

Well, don't hold out on us, what was in the file??? hahaha just kidding. I think he died from mixing valium with alcohol or something? Terrible.

I don't think I have ever seen one of his movies.  The only thing I know about him is that his son was formerly married to actress Cheryl Ladd.
