I enjoyed both the books and the DVDs and appreciated the differences in each. It is lighthearted escapism.

I loved the books, Sadly, the author died fairly recently. I will miss Agatha and all her insecurities but fans of the books have been overwhelmingly disappointed with the TV adaptation. By the way, if you love MC Beaton, you might want to try her Hamish MacBeth series. Those books are downright funny. They're murder mysteries with a sense of humor.
