Mary Badham, 69, who played Scout in the film version of To Kill a Mockingbird, has joined the play's touring company. She will take on the role of neighbor Mrs. Dubose in the production starring Richard Thomas.
She was Oscar nominated for Best Supporting Actress of 1962. At that time she was the youngest actress to be nominated in that category. She lost to another child actress, Patty Duke.
The tour begins March 27th in Buffalo, moving on to Boston, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Chicago and Cincinnati, among others.

How wonderful that they've brought her full circle with this ingenious bit of casting! She was such a 'natural' as little Scout. I like Richard Thomas too.
