Very sad.  Such a great actor.  He recently had back surgery at Stanford.  I wonder if he died due to a blood clot?

He was found dead in Palo Alto. Near Stanford.

The TMZ site I just posted said he'd just had treatment for minor back problems and was in the hotel recooperating.

A maid in the hotel found him dead.

Why are people in hotel rooms recuperating after back surgery. I know they're their after plastic surgery. I would think they would have at least a caregiver on watch.

I wouldn't like to be in a hotel room after back surgery.

Cause of death was a heart attack brought on by heart disease.  It had nothing to do with recent back surgery he had.  From NY Post Page Six today:

“Mr. Heard died a sudden cardiac death due to atherosclerotic and hypertensive heart disease,” the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office said in news release on Tuesday.

“Mr. Heard’s recent back surgery did not play a role in his death. The manner of death is natural,” the office added."

I watched Awakenings the other day and there was a scene where John Heard and Robin Williams were walking down a hall and all I could think was that they were both gone.

  He was an excellent actor.I enjoyed his movies.What a shame. 72 is just to young!!
