“Abby” Leaving NCIS

[ Edited ]

Pauley Perrette, the actress who plays Abby on NCIS, has announced that she’s leaving after this season.  She’s one of the three original cast members currently still doing the show, along with Mark Harmon and David McCallum.

They are giving her character a special, and still secret, send-off. Fifteen years is a long time. I wonder if the show will continue much longer, it has changed so much.

This really makes me sad. Her character is the high lite of the show for me.  I wish her well in whatever she does but she will be missed.

I still watch it, but I can sincerely say that I do not really enjoy it anymore. I don't think I have since Cote de Pablo left and the new character Bishop was added. When Michael Weatherly left, it became unwatchable with three more characters who really added little to the show. I still see no value in the British guy! The Bishop character isn't as annoying as she used to be, but it is just not fun to watch anymore. I miss Tony and Ziva and when the Coast Guard character would visit. I still love to see Ducky, and I like Abby.

I think the show has run its course. Maybe Abby could discover that Ziva is really alive, in hiding and there could be one last reunion before it ends. Yeah, right!

Sorry to be a debbie downer.  I had really tired of Abby's schtick altogether.  I don't watch anymore at all.  Last year grew tired of trying to keep up with all the characters and the multiple plots each episode.  I just quit. Don't care for Weatherly's new program either.  I am just contrary this afternoon, I guess.

I still watch the show weekly, but I feel it’s more out of sentimental value than actually still liking it.  I don’t miss Ziva, but I never warmed to Bishop either.  I really miss Tony; McGee cannot carry off the charismatic senior agent role at all.  The show has lost its spark.  I don’t see it lasting more than one more season.

I think this show has run its course.  I rarely watch anymore.

I'm really sorry to hear this, but I guess it isn't unusual after that long at one job.  I do wonder, though, if Mark Harmon will stay or go after his current contract is up given this development.  And David McCallum is getting pretty old.

I have been watching this series since the first episode and still enjoy it.  I do have to say that the years with Tony and Ziva, especially the first few years Ziva was on, were the ones I liked the best.  After she left it wasn't too long after that you could tell Michael Weatherly really didn't have his heart into it anymore.  I didn't particularly care for the way they replaced him with three characters.  Too many.  I didn't like Jennifer Esposito's character, I thought she was too bland, too much like Bishop.  And I don't see why "the British guy" is there either.  Now, Wilmer Valderrama is a different story.  I love his character!  Nick Torres has enough personality to carry off being a replacement for Tony.  And so far I like what they're doing with this season's storyline.  It's different and interesting.  A new Gibbs.  Now, with Abby leaving, I could see the new Gibbs deciding on a lifestyle change after the following season.

I would miss the show if that happens, but it has been going for a really long time.  Not many series can keep my interest for that long, and with so many character changes.  But who knows?  They might find somebody interesting to replace Abby.  I didn't think I would continue to watch after Tony left either.

Without Tony  NCIS  has lost my interest.  I like Mark Harmon, but he is showing his age and probably should retire.  MeGee is ok, but he isn't Tony.  I  like Wilbur, but they really don't give him enough air time.  The British guy is okay, but he really doesn't fit in.

I didn't like Michael Weatherly's new show last year, but it seems to have perked up a bit this year.  I'm still not sure about it.

I thought maybe they actually had a chance to re-group after Ziva and then Tony left.   I liked Jennifer Esposito as Quinn, but she only stayed one season.

This is a really gruelling show to work on, from what I've heard.  It sells extremely well around the world, so they do more episodes each season than most shows film.

By the way ....  does everyone know that Pauley Perette is a natural blonde?   Yes ... really.    A while back she had a serious reaction to her black hair dye.
