When Michael Weatherly left NCIS to star in his own series, Bull, I always thought he'd return to NCIS if his show flopped.

Fast forward 6 years, and there's talk of Very Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo returning for season 20.

What about Ziva David returning ?   

I stopped watching the show back when Pauly Pierrette (sp?) was still on the show.

Would Michael Weatherly returning to NCIS be of interest to you?

For me, yes, but only if Mark Harmon also returned.

I’ve watched NCIS since it’s inception and would love to see Tony come back.  And, of course, Ziva please come back, as well.

I’m probably in the minority. I didn’t watch the first few years, so I don’t have the same allegiance to Tony and Ziva. I don’t think Tony’s character will mesh with the current team. I also think he would be too much like Nick Torres. Maybe for a few episode arc, like Ziva did, but not full time.

I wondered about that,also. I always THOUGHT I liked Bull,but when Benny left I realized it was Benny I liked.

I also thought Weatherly started believing in his own magic.

I don't think even Tony and Ziva can bring this show back to what it once was.

I hope not. I like Michael Weatherly, but in his own domain. I never like the chemistry between him and Ziva. To me, there was none. He was much better on Bull.

Very Special Agent Tony DiNozzo was very immature and no way would that have been tolerated in a Federal Agency in real life.  My hope is, if they do bring him back, family life has caused him to grow up.  I believe he might guest star in a few episodes but won't be a regular cast member.

The original series which so much of us loved, was lightning in a bottle, and you can't recreate that. If Michael Weatherly were to come back, he's have to lose some weight (he was looking pudy toward the end of Bull) and get a hairpiece. I never liked Pauly Perrette and I like the actress wh replaced her much better.

You really can't cause lightning to strike twice. Leave it alone.
