A plug for "Stand and Deliver"

...shown on TCM last night, hadn't seen it for many years. Uplifting: the positive power of good teachers. Actor Edward Olmos' comments were so interesting- this film is shown A LOT in schools to help encourage students (& probably teachers too). See it when you can. Kudos to TCM for expanding their excellent programming.

@birdQ13   I watched it last night as well ~ really enjoyed it.  Olmos is very talented ~ loved him in "Miami Vice" ~ he was so soft spoken but able to "communicate" with his eyes and movements.

And even better-- based on a TRUE story which shows ALL students can succeed when given the opportunity and the support.
