I watched the newest Hallmark Holiday original movie on Sat. It was just awful. The story was about a girl who took photos of snowflakes and needed one more rare one for her collection. Just so happens to run into an old boyfriend who had a snow plow and they took off chasing a really bad snowstorm so she could collect this snowflake that she had been looking for for 3 years!  Problem was there was hardly any snow on the ground nor was there anything that looked like a blizzard. So not only was the ending inevitable, but the scenery was not truthful. Maybe they should have waited till winter to film it. I think that is my last time-wasting Hallmark movie.

Pitiful!

Re: A new low for Hallmark movies

This is a little off-topic but why does Hallmark continue to have all their actors sport that scruffy beard look? On some it works. On others it makes them look like swarthy pirates. And the obvious curling ironed curls and cheapo wigs and extensions on the women do the actresses no favors. Just my opinion. I do agree that the calibre of the Hallmark movies has hit a new low, even for them. I can suspend belief as well as anyone but some of these productions require a suspension of consciousness.

I watch and rewatch Hallmark movies almost daily.  This one could not hold my attention, and I tried twice.

I watched a couple movies around Christmastime. Both in the same week. Same story, different actors. Very predictable in every way. Fine if you want to pass the time without thinking.

Agree and, as far as it goes and with just a few exceptions, I don't think they could find an overall less appealing group of leading men.

Re: A new low for Hallmark movies

@geegerbee  I agree. Even given this is 'just Hallmark', even given these are nothing more than 'feel good' movies, even given no one expects award worthy films here, the 'new' Hallmark is just awful. They've brought in a good many newer actors, most of whom fall flat, as do their attempts at greater relevance. Scripts are worse than ever and the same goes for 'Great American', whose movies are also really pretty bad, overall. I was once an occasional viewer but can't remember the last time I watched an entire movie on either network all the way through. They're just awful.  Even 'feel good entertainment' shouldn't be flat out vapid and boring.

[ Edited ]

I knew Hallmark was desperate when they produced a movie with Kyle Richards.  The premise was that Richards and her best friend were competing for the best Christmas decorated house in the neighborhood.  Kyle Richards cannot carry a whole movie.  She is best in small parts like in the Halloween movies.

My DH was watching one last night.  Ugh.  Too soon and too stupid.

The actors are HORRIBLE. Guess that's all they can afford. Can't ever watch this channel.

@frenchie

I've attempted to watch them a couple times, but they all seem to be the same mindless G-rated movies for adults.   Truly boring, and I wondered how they can keep a network going with those.  Perhaps I missed something.
