I'd say this was the favorite movie of girls in my high school in 1965. On the Movies channel tonight.

One of my favorite movies , also .(  All Sidney Poitier movies ,actually !) I knew they couldn't , but I wanted them to be together in the end .

Oscar winning role for Shelley Winters. Eliz Hartman was a very fine actress.

I saw Patch of Blue when it came out in the movies and of course whenever it is on TV I watch it.  I love this movie and its story line, Poitier and Hartman were so good in their roles.  I was sad to hear about her death at a young age , she had potential to do much more in the entertainment world.

Poitier and Elizabeth Hartman were so good in this.  I didn't realize that she died at a young age, @spiderw , what a shame.  That explains why I didn't hear of her later career.  She had a certain radiance.  Always think of her in that talented group of young actresses of the period, like Shirley Knight...

She was so vulnerable, ethereal and even tragic as Priss in The Group.
