@Mary Bailey  Absolutely!  Love that song.

@MamaWick  Dan sure could weave a tune.  Even the ones I don't like are beautifully written.

another turn it up tune of me is 'Everlasting Love" the Carl Carlton Version.  It Always lifts my spirits.

I like a fair number of songs from my era, but have always instinctively loved most the composers and the popular music of the earliest part of the twentieth century--  Tin Pan Alley, and jazz.

Let's see:

1) "Where or When"             Rodgers and Hart

2) "My Funny Valentine"

1) "Always"                           Irving Berlin

2)"What'll I Do?"

1)"Night and Day"                 Cole Porter

2)"I Get a Kick Out of You"

I have so many and I would generally go with a Stones tune, however for nostalgia reasons my pick is Wonderful Tonight by Eric clapton.  That was my wedding song, 1982.

This is a tough one; I'm a big music fan of most all genres. I've tried through the years to make a Top 25 list but never can do it. The two songs that I love and have to stop to listen when they come on whatever I'm listening to:

Harvest Moon by Neil Young

Back to the Island by Leon Russell

But I always have to add These Arms of Mine by Otis Redding...and on and on.

I can't pick one favorite, so I'll list a few I like:

Bob Seger "Against the Wind." I can relate to that one.

Elton John "Your Song". and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road."

For over fifty years my favorite song has been Stairway to Heaven by Led Zeppelin. That's it...that's the one.

@pupwhipped  Have you ever heard Heart's cover of it?  Performed in front of the remaining members of Led Zeppelin, with Jason Bonham on drums, at the Kennedy Center Honors in 2012.  I think it's amazing, the best cover song I've heard, I think.
