The house was officially awakened halfway early yesterday, but only Memphis rose from his bed for an hour or longer as everyone else just stayed in bed despite multiple pleas from BB to rise and shine. Eventually, they all stirred and started to move about with the big question being, "What would Daniele do for the nominations?" It turns out she took the easy route and nominated David and Kevin. This seemed to devastate Kevin who collapsed in tears and needed consoling, but had relatively little impact on David.
BB watchers were confused that David was nominated and hadn't used his power. Had he chosen not to use the power? Did he remember he had the power? (This is David after all.) Did he forget how to use the power? What the heck was he doing?
Well, fear not. It turns out David remembered he had the power, remembered how to use it, and chose to use it, sparing himself from the block. Danielle was then forced to nominate someone else in a later ceremony and not surprisingly, chose Tyler. (David's not admitting he had and used the power to his fellow houseguests which is kind of stupid as they've all figured it out, but he's David.)
Cody then met with the POC in the house, (not People of Color, but Pawns of Cody) and started to make it clear that he wanted Tyler to stay and that Kevin was now excess baggage, crying, distraught, very upset excess baggage, but excess baggage all the same. Daniele assured Kevin he was safe and not to fear. He was just a pawn. (Yeah, sure he was.) He had the votes to get at least a tie in Nicole, Ian, Da'Vonne, and Christmas which would force a tie and Daniele would be the hero to break the tie and save him. (Yeah, sure she would. Why wouldn't Christmas vote out her ride and die, final two partner in Tyler to save Kevin? On a side note, the houseguests heard Julie say something like, "Tyler and Christmas have been in a final two since the start of the season, how will this affect the vote?" during the live show on Thursday due to an audio leak. Oops!) Kevin, being Kevin seemed reassured by Daniele's reassurances and seemed to feel he's safe and briefly paused the pity party. Okay, then.
The house was then stunned to discover they had the yard available despite there being a POV comp today. Mind you it was a smoky, hazy yard with an orange glow due to the fires not too far away, but it was the yard and they were happy, though confused by this turn of events. They now assume today's POV comp will be played in the remote location (BB Basement/Safety Suite) or that it will be the hide and seek veto comp where all BB has to do is set up chairs in the yard and some simple booths for the players as the house itself becomes the comp area. We will see what happens. If it's the hide and seek veto comp the house will be destroyed when the feeds come back up after the comp. (BB also once filled the house with balloons with the veto hidden in a balloon, so they could do something like that again.)
So, today will have the picking of the POV players. We know Tyler, Kevin and Daniele will be playing. The POV comp will take place. Daniele will be praying she wins or someone who doesn't use the veto so she only had to nominate three people this week. Christmas is on her short-list of possible replacement nominees, but Christmas has the blocker power and if nominated would likely use it and then Daniele would have to nominate five of the eleven houseguests during her HOH reign. Putting five of the eleven houseguests on the block is generally not a good thing for an HOH. Memphis and Enzo are also on her list of possible replacement nominees. Ian is safe this week due to the DR's lectures on how he's been treated.
Nicole is in something of a panic over the Ian incident which is kind of fun to see. She's clearly been questioned about it and is doing her best to cover her tracks and assure everyone she would never ever do anything to hurt anyone's feelings, but she's very worried about what BB will show on TV.
So, we'll get the picking of the POV players later today and I'll report back on who gets picked. Then the POV comp will be played at some point. If it's the hide and seek veto it'll be very easy to tell once the feeds come back as the house will be trashed. If it's the balloon veto there should still be lots of excess balloons around the house. If it's done at a remote location the nonparticipating houseguests will be locked down in the HOH suite while the players are gone and they'll be asking all kinds of questions after the players get back. We should know who won and what the comp was fairly quickly today. (Remind me I said that later when we know nothing.)
