I watched most of the show. I've read that Randy was only 62 when he passed from covid. He looked much older to me. Did anyone else think so? They've definitely been showing people lately that genuinely don't desire help. I didn't care for Dolly's story either. Some of these stores are just so disturbing.

There have been so many wastes of time this season that I actually checked to see if this one was a sincere effort and when I saw it was another nonsense one, I deleted it. I'm done until they find someone actually willing to make an effort and not to collect a showbiz check.  I have limited free time as it is and the minutes of my life are worth more than this show.

@colliemom4 , you wrote Randy was only 62?  Wow, I agree with you about him looking older than that.

I also felt he was nasty to Dr. Now when speaking to him.  I do; however, give him credit for what he did to care for her.

The part that got me was when he was at the grocery store after Dr. Now got her the info about the diet, etc.  She was on the phone with him and there he was throwing krap food in the cart.  I believe if memory serves, her first choice was pb cookies, then the rest of the krap.  Never once did he question what she told him to get.  That cart was filled with junk food.

It was also interesting that after he passed and 4 months later from his death, she reached out to Dr. Now for help.  Her attitude changed (slightly) for the good.  At that point, I knew we wouldn't see her having surgery.

The end of it stating she cut all ties with him was it for me.  She really owed him, the PT and the dietician an apology.

She was thankless and I have to wonder how she's getting all of her food plus getting care for herself.  There were times I wondered if she was related to  Tammy from the show "1000 pound sisters".

That was one of the worst person I ever seen on the show! How nasty she was was to the dietician and physical therapist . I give them a lot of credit as they were still trying to help ! Then talking such trash about Dr. Now. , but you can ‘t fool him! He knows all the stories about why you can’t lose weight!! I’m wondering if she’s menopausal as she is in that age bracket and going from such nastiness to really liking Dr. Paradise. One word she knows is OKAYE! Every other word out of her mouth was OK!

@HisElk1  Yes I saw an article about them online. He was 62. She's 51. I'm thinking her care fell into the hands of her family or perhaps she became a ward of the state? I can't stand seeing the enablers purchasing garbage food for the patients that are trying to lose weight. I saw a person shopping just as Randy did on another TLC series and did it on face time and bought all junk food like Randy did.

Re: 600 pound life (Feb 2) with Lisa E.

Since its obvious Dr. Now's patients are Medicaid recipients, I'm wonder if TLC actively recruits them for this show.  Since the principals on TLC's outlandish shows tend to escalate their behavior over time, I'm wondering if the patients are coached to exhibit certain traits that will make people like us discuss the program. If so, it obviously worked.  I don't trust TLC to not pull such a stunt.

None of the medical professionals on last night's show seem particularly upset with her behavior.  I've seen Dr. NOW become really angry and raise his voice in other cases, but not last night, cool as a cucumber.  Makes me suspicious

I was flabbergasted....she was one of the worst ones I've seen. The way she treated everyone....especially her boyfriend....and Dr. Now.....then lying about everything...no wonder nobody wanted to be around her. She has some definite mental issues.
It's been a long time since there's been a success story....I think my days of watching are coming to an end.

How much is this costing us?  It is worth it when the pat...

How much is this costing us?  It is worth it when the patient is successful and changes their lives as a result of surgery....not so much when that money could have helped another who desperately would have appreciated the help:

    1.
      • The government pays a significant portion of costs associated with obesity for Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries.

      •   Estimates of the medical cost of adult obesity in the United States (U.S.) range from $147 billion to nearly $210 billion per year.

      •   Obesity is responsible for $61.8 billion in Medicare and Medicaid spending.

  If obesity rates continue on their current track, medical costs associated with obesity are estimated to increase by $48 - $66 billion per year in the U.S., and the loss of economic productivity could be as high as $580 billion annually by 2030.
