Re: 4/17 MATLOCK - SEASON FINALE - SPOILERS

I thought the episode dragged.  The revenge storyline is not as interesting to me as the other weekly cases (like Sarah being able to shine in the courtroom). Those have much more appeal to me.

What I don't understand it opiads are still prescribed for pain/injuries even though the dangers are known about.  Would that really have prevented her death?  Seems like Maddies taking her daughter from her did more damage than the drugs.

I think we were supposed to view it as 2 hour episodes just made into one, one dealing with Sarah's case and the other Maddies case with her daughter's death. This sure does put Olympia in a tough spot. As usual she shined.

Julian has cut ties with his father and the firm. He could team up with Olympia and Matlock.  Senior is the one that made the decisions.  Has anybody else been looking for that document in all this time?

If Jason Ritter has gotten a great offer to be on another show, this is the perfect time to "dismiss" his character and let everyone move on.

I was under the impression it was going to be completely wrapped up with the finale, but I suppose they want people to tune in next season to see how the whole situation gets resolved.

Hopefully it will and they won't try to drag it out for another entire season. Enough truly is enough. A single premise can't sustain a show forever.

ITA ...  The single premise can get wrapped up easily and then they can move on to other twists and turns.

I think it's safe to say that however it plays out, it won't wrap up the way Mattie thought it would.

Opiates are a necessary medical staple. The 'opiate crisis' ensued with over-prescribing and the illegal manufacture and trade. While hiding the evidence was crucial, come on, how long have we all known that narcotics are addictive and that addiction is harmful? While the actual drug abuse was the problem, I've long felt that Maddy and Edwin's 'tough love' approach backfired badly in the case of their daughter. I think she knows that and I think that's part of the reason she's pursued this so relentlessly. Recall her even asking him if he blamed her and I think he admitted honestly that he did in part.

I agree, the Olympia actress did an outstanding job.

I enjoyed every minute of the two-hour finale. The big surprise for me was that Olympia found the missing documents at the bank. That was an OMG moment for me.

As promised in many online articles, we found out who the culprit was in the Finale. But one very small thing I must have missed. Why was Julian at the bank? I thought Olympia went to the bank knowing that Julian wouldn't be there, lying to the bank official that he couldn't make it. I thought he had a meeting and that was why she went to the bank when she did,

Not sure I like that Alfie's father is in the picture now; or maybe he really isn't his father.

I thought everyone did an excellent job, including the writers. The cast was very good, especially Sarah. I did think her outfit for court looked too big on her. She looked like she was drowning in the suit, unlike Olympia and her suits. Maybe that is the style. That is the only negative there was for me in the whole two-hour show.

Looking forward to seeing in the Fall as the new season starts.

Re: 4/17 MATLOCK - SEASON FINALE - SPOILERS

There were things I liked about the finale, and things that left me flat. Starting with that whole broken tooth event. Ending with Justine inexplicably showing up at the safety deposit boxes.

Lots that leads into story lines for season 2.

I think Olivia will be shining in season 2. She's realizes betrayal from those she's been close to and loved. Who in her circle can she ever really trust? Making partner was by design. I think Senior was aware of the Wellbrexa covert investigation and that's why he made Olivia partner. When he told her that now what happens with Jacobson Moore are her concerns it was his way of hoping to stifle her.

Yes, Justine, sometimes we are defined by our worst moments even if made while trying to get a father's approval.

Claudia is such a petty, and I feel unbalanced, person. You've known Billy for how long? And are going after Sarah because he's dumping you? Hope she gets squashed like a bug.

And Maddie's home life will be in turmoil with a potential baby daddy showing up on the doorstep, and a desire to continue practicing law.

So I guess the show is still holding my interest since I look forward to season 2.
