Hard to quite realize, but were he alive today, Johnny Carson would be 100-- born October 23, 1925.
You knew you'd made it when Al Hirschfeld did one of his wonderful cartoon treatments of you...
Boyish.... the way he broke up laughing, very contagious.
He was often funny even when he was serious....
Love the wisdom of "Karnak"....
A complex, flawed, intelligent comic. Could be goofy, or show elegant restraint. Appealing Midwestern demeanor, never full of himself. Magnificent, unerring timing. One of a kind.

Johnny Carson will always be the king of late night television. One could relax and be entertained by his show and forget the world's problems for a night.

Yes, Johnny Carson entertained us nightly and provided much fun and laughter. He had many great guests and knew how to bring out the best in them. Classy, hilarious, no airs about him, just a great entertainer!!

Loved Johnny Carson, who was truly the king of late-night TV. I looked forward to Joan Embury's appearances with animals from the San Diego zoo. That was hilarious. Also, the high school kids' bird-calling contest winners. He was one of a kind.

He was NOT a good person.

Hard to believe that he would be 100. My favorite Johnny Carson memory is when Jim Fowler (Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom) brought on a baboon who went rogue. It was and still is hilarious. Just watched it on YouTube and laughed out loud. I miss Johnny. He was the best.
