And we have a new HOH, and his name is Turner! The After Party lives! Well, sort of. Turner, being Turner seems to want to go back to what's left of The Pound with Monte and Kyle together as a final threesome. Turner is worried that he and Kyle will be having to carry Alyssa and Terrance as neither did well in the HOH comp. (Which by the way, was the stacking miniature things comp. Kyle was reportedly one away from winning it twice, then knocked over his stack. Alyssa reportedly had trouble handling the long tweezers.) Turner says he didn't want to win but was afraid the other side would win so he ended it. (That's what he told Alyssa. The other side apparently being the inside Leftovers.)
Turner has suggested putting up Alyssa and Terrance and sending one of them home this week and the other one next week, so it would then be a three-on-three fight to the end with Kyle, Turner, and Monte going against Taylor, Michael, and Brittany. Kyle is not enthused about that idea. He's more of a fan of putting up Michael and Brittany after Joe told them those two were playing both sides and they've been acting weird since the house reunited as they fish for information.
Turner's doing his one-on-ones as I type this and has just told Brittany that no Leftover will go up. That means Terrance and Alyssa. He says he knows it will cost him two jury votes. (Brittany was just downstairs saying they needed to target Turner next week, so despite her assurances that she loves Turner, she wants him gone.) He's pretty much telling everyone what they want to hear. What will he really do? We'll find out tonight.
This is the "No big move" season of Big Brother. Turner identified for much of the game as a member of The Pound more than a Leftover, so I think he's sticking to The Pound and hoping to pull back in Monte and Kyle for a final threesome now that Joe's gone. His only real problem is The Pound only exists in his head. Everyone else has moved on. Monte is now more solid with Taylor, Michael, and Brittany. (Oops! Maybe not!) Kyle has Alyssa and Terrance. The only person truly in The Pound is Turner. A one-person alliance isn't all that effective in the game.
We'll find out what happens tonight when the nominations go down. I'm not optimistic that Turner will take the shot and target a real threat in the game. At this point, they can start printing the grand prize check and make the first letter an M as either Michael or Monte will be the winner if things don't change soon. Maybe Turner will grow a pair over the course of the day and make a move, but I'm not optimistic. It's the season of no one making a big move. There are targets aplenty, but no one wants to take a shot.
Interesting. Now Monte is pinning a target on Michael, Taylor, and Brittany to Turner. Monte is confirming that Michael and Brittany are playing both sides. Monte tells Turner that Michael, Brittany, and Taylor all agreed that they'd go after Kyle and Turner if Joe didn't come back. Monte might be signing the death warrant for one of his fellow insiders. I wasn't expecting that.
So, will Turner take the shot at Michael, Brittany, and Taylor, or roll over and put up Alyssa and Terrance? I'm leaning towards the latter, but Monte is doing a good job of target placement on Michael, Brittany, and Taylor. The smart move is to keep Alyssa and Terrance as numbers, not put them up. Put up some combo of Michael, Brittany, and Taylor. Flush one of those three this week then target the other two at the first chance. He alienates the fewest people. Turner loses the fewest jury votes. He can be in both the After Party and The Pound (which may now also have Monte back pretty solid.)
We'll find out what he does tonight. Expect him to waffle much of the day. He's promised everyone they're safe this week and he has to nominate two of those he's assured are safe. Something has to give. Monte is giving him a good reason to break his word to Brittany, Michael, and Taylor. What will Turner do? God only knows. I'm pretty sure Turner doesn't know.
And Turner is back to putting up Alyssa and Terrance. Monte wants Terrance the target if they do that as he's more likely to win something. Then they'll take out Alyssa the next week. It'll be Monte, Kyle, and Turner, against Taylor, Michael, and Brittany. This is going to be a season where a whole lot of players look back and wonder, "What was I thinking?" You only get so many chances to take out the big players, and no one's taking advantage of those chances. We'll have to see what happens, but Turner seems fixated on reuniting what's left of The Pound and then having a three-on-three battle to the end.
