Yesterday, Kyle spilled everything he knows to both Alyssa and Terrance resulting in Terrance nominating both Joe and Turner with Joe as the target. If Joe doesn't win POV today he's likely a goner. Though Turner did say he'd use the POV on Joe if he won it. Why? Stupidity? Yeah, maybe. He thinks Alyssa or Kyle would be the replacement and gone, but Turner would likely be voted out by Terrance in a tie vote. Turner is still very much a believer in the Pound alliance and won't break away. Michael had assured Terrance that Monte was his target, so Terrance is assuming that both Joe and Monte will be gone this week taking out two big threats. Yeah, about that...
Inside the house, Michael and Brittany are more focused on creating yet another final three, final four, final however many houseguests are left deal, this time with Monte and Taylor. (They've had final deals with just about everyone this season.) They're considering telling Monte and Taylor about Kyle's fear that a new Cookout is forming to turn them against Kyle to get him out. (They're assuming Alyssa is a goner this week. Uh, no.) They worry that things could have gone horribly wrong, and Joe could be at risk. (Well, yeah.)
The inside houseguests already played for POV and Brittany won it. It was the hold or fold comp where they have to guess how many whatever are in a pile. (If the outside crew has the same comp, it won't be an easy one for Joe to win.) She's not planning to use the POV, and Monte and Jasmine will remain the nominees with Jasmine their target. For now, anyway. They have to at least think about giving Monte the boot if he's still on the block on Monday. We'll be down to the final eight on Thursday night and they're assuming Joe, Turner, Monte and Taylor will all still be there. That's a pretty formidable group for Michael and Brittany to overcome.
Monte will win if he gets to the final two. He's played the best game. Take him out when you've got the chance. You have the votes, His bags will be packed, and he'll be sitting there waiting to go meet Julie, send him on his way. Is it easier to beat Jasmine or Monte? Keep the easier person to beat and that's clearly Jasmine.
With Joe gone (assuming he doesn't win POV) and Monte also possibly gone, the house would have Kyle, Terrance, Alyssa, Jasmine, Brittany, Michael, Taylor, and Turner. Not the most intimidating cast to beat if you're Michael. What Michael and Brittany are assuming they'll have is Joe, Turner, Monte, Taylor, Kyle, Terrance, Brittany, and Turner. That's a more challenging path to the final two to get through. Make life easier on yourself and get out the biggest threats.
Michael also now knows of the Pound alliance of Kyle, Turner, Joseph, and Monte. Why keep a known alliance in the house when you can boot one or more of them? If Michael and Brittany keep Jasmine, she remains a target for Turner who desperately wants her gone. And she has no true allies in the game. She's also not overly likely to win anything but if she does, she'll owe you. And Jasmine wants Turner out. Taylor will go after Alyssa if she wins HOH. Kyle thinks he's still got Michael and Brittany on his side so Kyle and Alyssa won't target them. Terrance can't play for HOH this week so he can't target them. Where's the threat to them if they give Monte the boot? There isn't one. Not immediately anyway.
We'll have to see what happens after the POV ceremonies on Monday, but I've got to think that Michael has to give serious thought to getting rid of Monte while he has the chance. He may not get another chance. Monte will win if he gets to the final two. No one beats him. He volunteered to go on the block this week. It's stupid to keep him in the game if you don't have to and Michael and Brittany most certainly don't have to. Monte has placed himself on the edge of the cliff. All it takes is one tiny little push to send him away.
I'll post back after we know who wins the outside POV. The hold and fold comp is pretty much a crapshoot comp, so anyone could win it. Assuming they have the same comp. Which they may or may not. We'll have to see.
