07/31/2024 Big Brother 26 live Feed Spoilers and Updates!!!

And the status quo is still status quo-ing. Nothing much has changed. A few new alliances have formed, and everyone is pretty much allied with everyone else in some manner. In many cases, in multiple ways. Angela is Angela-ing and keeping the target on Lisa, who can't understand why everyone doesn't love her. Angela mocked Lisa's walk and called her a twit after first telling us she was going to stir things up a bit. Apparently, Angela thought the house was too quiet.

A potential new showmance is forming with Rubina and Cedric. Not a lot of potential there but production needs something. Leah is still flirting with everyone. Chelsie thinks Leah is after Cam or Tucker, but Leah was also lying with her head on Kimo's chest. Leah is just flirty with everyone including the other women. She's just a friendly, outgoing, fun-loving girl. I'm not sure how much intent there is on her part to get into a showmance with anyone.

Kenney is vowing to call the house together to tell them to vote him out if he doesn't win HOH this week. I'm not sure half the house even remembers he's there most of the time. They certainly won't miss him if he's gone. He offers nothing. He's just a background character at this point. (Which isn't bad if you want to win the game. Fading into the background and not being a target can get you far in the game.)  Kenney's just been over the whole thing since the time he moved in. The novelty wore off quickly and he's over it.

Most of the house now knows who has the secret powers and what they do. Word has spread and Kenney might be the only one who doesn't know who has the powers. Chelsie appealed to America that if Makensy uses her power, to please not vote her up as the replacement. I don't think America will. Despite winning HOH this week, Chelsie is still a mid-tier player to most viewers. Angela, Lisa, Joe, and to some extent, Cam are the lower-rated houseguests who would likely get the boot by America.

More calls to the DR today for the houseguests to film their goodbye messages. It's Waffle Wednesday so whatever vote-flipping talk takes place, it'll happen today, but this house pretty much holds true to their plan which is bad news for Lisa. She pretty much needs to win the AI Arena to stay. If she wins the Arena then Angela probably will go, but the temptation to flush Tucker will be there. He's more of a long-term threat to win than Angela.

We have a show tonight! On tonight's show (now at 8 ET) we'll see the aftermath of the noms, the picking of the POV players, the POV comp, and the POV meeting. Maybe they'll clue us in on why the feeds were down so long over the weekend. The guess is Angela said/did something wrong and a fight ensued, but any time anyone tries to talk about it the feeds switch, so we don't know all of the details. They might show that tonight, or not.

Angela might make good tv for some people or BB. The more she does and says, the more I know I'd never ever want to know her in the real world.

BB has kicked people out for various reasons. Calling names and making fun of someone's walk should be reasons.

If you go back to ED's first season (season 8) he mocked everyone, banged pots and pans while people were trying to sleep. Poured a drink over Jen's head. Burned Jen with lit cigarettes. Threatened to rape and kill some of the female houseguests. Harassed Dustin for being gay. He was just a world-class jerk and they never threw him out. More recently, Josh Martinez, BB winner in season 19, behaved similarly and won the game. Jason Roy in Big Brother Over The Top was the villain there and said and did nasty stuff.

The producers love to cast someone to play the role of villain and they'll let the villain get away with all kinds of stuff. Angela is far from the worst villain BB has ever cast. They'll keep her around as long as she's fulfilling the role they gave her. And by old-school BB standards, she's more of a clown than a real villain. People have done much, much worse and gotten away with it and even won BB.

@gardenman,  your assessment of previous villains may be correct but for some reason, to me, Angela is more psychologically intimidating/damaging than previous villains.  Perhaps it is the way she turns her aggression on and off in the blink of an eye.

I've known one or two people that are truly like the way she is portraying herself.

As an aside to your post on yesterday's thread no matter what her employer said about who she really is if I walked into a business and saw her I would walk right out, not wanting to do business with her or a business that employs her.

Re: 07/31/2024 Big Brother 26 live Feed Spoilers and Updates!!!

@Marp

It could be that a lot of the previous villains looked more like villains while Angela looks more like a suburban mom. Evel named himself after the word evil, he just altered the spelling while Angela's name is more angelic. She doesn't look like a villain so her actions may seem more extreme. "I didn't expect that from her!"

The fact that she can and does turn it off and on makes it seem more like she's playing a role than doing it naturally. If Joe with his Snidely Whiplash style moustache was acting this way or Tucker with his accent, it might be more expected. They more fit the villain stereotype. You don't expect that type of behavior from a typical suburban mother.

If you just look at the headshots and ask yourself, "Who did they cast to be the villain this year?" Angela would probably be pretty far down on the list of options. She doesn't fit the outward appearance stereotype of a villain. That might make her actions seem more reprehensible. You might expect it more from someone who looks more like a stereotypical villain.

I'm sorry but if I were Angela I would be playing the sweet older grandmotherly lady if I wanted to play a role.  They seemed to really like her in the beginning until they didn't.  She seems to have a personality disorder to me.  I don't think she will last long because she's very annoying. Imagine spending 90 days with someone like her.

Angela is a classic bully/mean girl that makes fun of people.  I think the difference with her vs. ED or Josh is Angela is somebody we all knew or know whether in school or at work that is just so incredibly mean, obnoxious and rude and you just want somebody just to stand up to her and take her down.

@Marp , exactly.  I would know I could never trust a word that comes out of her mouth and that she is going back to her office making fun of me and mocking me...and her employer condones that.

Makensy, by far the tallest female houseguest, is letting Rubina, by far our shortest houseguest, try on some of her dresses. A miniskirt on Makensy is pretty much a maxi dress on Rubina.

I saw this picture posted of Xander Hastings from Survivor 41 with his friend "Dinah" (T'kor) in T'kor Couture sweaters:

Well hmmm, knowing that most people think Angela is a production plant it makes me wonder if every houseguest in the house has a link back to CBS production in some way? Is this normal, or just a result of having friends on shows that you want to go on too?

I know Angela had a conversation with Kenney about both wanting to go on Survivor, The Traitors, The Amazing Race, etc. Maybe they just all have the same "I want have to have fame" gene?
