Re: too many of your clothing items are made in China.Anything mad in the USA?

Perhaps if we decided not to purchase items from China, QVC would advertise more made in USA. I am not going to purchase any more Susan Graver clothing until it changes.

In "thinking big" we have to be smarter about how we protect our technological advancements.  I realize we can't cut China out of our trade chain, but countries who support defective merchandising need to be of lesser importance.

I like clothes made in China.  In fact, I get them directly from there.  It takes 4-6 weeks to get here so I figure the Covid virus is dead.

I remember when Susan Graver first started on QVC she use to shout out her clothing was made in the USA. Not now not for a long long time.

The reason the U.S. garment industry died out is because manufacturers chose to move jobs overseas in favor of cheap labor.  It's called greed and not caring about the impact on the U.S.

Its not just clothing; I ordered a Barbara King bronze planter that was not inexpensive as a gift.  Unpacked it and saw the made in China sticker on the bottom.  I removed the sticker before I gave the gift!  We could have made it here!!

I hate most things 'made in China' because the quality is inferior and China is notorious for using toxic chemicals not allowed in any other country.  Poisoned pet food a few years ago killed Millions of pets.  Flooring contaminated with Formaldehyde and toxic dyes are the norm in Chinese goods.  We pay a high price for cheap goods.

People act as if QVC  is the ONLY retailer that sells stuff that was made in that evil, evil country, China.

Get real, and the next time you shop anyplace ,  remember the name of that business, and then maybe you'll see that QVC isn't the "lone  wolf" when it comes to selling things from China.

Or, how about having threads about how other   stores are selling stuff from China.

"Wal-Mart Sells Stuff That Are Made in China!"

" Michael's Sells Stuff That Are Made in China! "

"Amazon Sells Things That Are Made in China!"

Nope, don't see those threads.

People need to realize that we are a global economy, and that the dye has already been cast, and that the genie is out of the bottle, and that we'll never be an island unto ourselves.

If you want products made in America, then you will be paying more for it, after all, you want the factory workers to make a living wage, and have health care, right?

But then people would complain about how much stuff costs.

Bottom line is, do you want to pay more for stuff made here, or do you want to spend less for the same item that's made over seas?

Can't have it both ways.

Lastly, people buy what they can afford.

Say you need new shoes.

Nothing fancy, just regular, everyday, run-around-town shoes.

There are two pairs of shoes.

One is made in America, but costs $200.

The other is made over seas, and costs $75.

You want to buy the $200 pair, but you can only afford  the $75 pair.

Which shoes are you going to buy?

Most people will buy the $75 shoes, because that's what they can afford, even though they may want to get the $200 shoes, because they are made in America.

So, would it be nice to have more stuff made here?

Sure, but one also has to be realistic, and know that that may not happen.
