David please if possible try to come up with a sugar free cookies. I just found out I have type 2 d. and I really miss my sugar cookies. Thank you for reading and try to come up with sugar free sugar cookies. Thank you

@rose57, have you tried Splenda?  I think they advertise that you use it just as you would sugar.  I have never used it, but I would give it a try if I had that diagnosis, maybe just making a small batch of cookies.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I often replace part of the sugar with Splenda, which does't react to heat.  However, if you replace all the sugar, your baked goods won't brown and look unappealingly anemic.

Look for the website called Diabetes Self Management.

There is info there that should be helpful for managing your carbs, no matter what you're baking/cooking.

Check out Marlene Koch's cookbooks.  She has great recipes for diabetics and baking with Splenda.

Why not buy them at the grocery store and make it easy on yourself??
