I am sure QVC has a better idea of what will turn a profit than self-proclaimed fashionistas. Why do so many people think they know how to better run a shopping channel? How many board members have actually done so?

Oh it's just the professor again, and as usual pontificating about the brilliance of the Q's business model... Just ignore him...

As for the abbreviated PM Style, I think they do this for every Monday holiday and I don't like it either... They short shrift PM Style so they can eek out YET another hour of what's almost always another 'gadget' TSV. I think they assume they have a built in audience lined up and one of their most successful hosts to boot, and hope we'll all just sit tight and nicely segue into their hour long presentation of a single item... Personally, as soon as PMS ended, I changed the channel...

As for successfully running a home shopping channel, I'm not sure recent financials bear out that assumption... And, last time I looked, their domestic COO hailed from a lower-end brick and mortar retailer... and one without a TV shopping component at that...

Re: preempting pm style for shark again!!! really

OP: The only Q Check I watch is the Style edition on a Monday morning. This morning the first half-hour (of a one hour show) was taken up with Shark. I changed the channel after the first two minutes but went back a few times to see if the Shark segment was over. It was just finishing at 9:30 a.m., but I decided I was no longer interested at that time and didn't go back to Q Check. Just a thought - I wonder if QVC has ever done a comparison of how much they made on (as an example) the half-hour of Shark versus the style items they would usually have sold in that half-hour (if you see what I mean). I can't imagine what kind of people are now in charge of QVC but I really hope they are taking note of our comments because I think too many people, myself included, are changing the channel very easily.

How often do you buy a vacuum cleaner ..... and how often do you buy a new piece of clothing?

Do the math.

QVC Programming Dept is really falling down on the job, IMO. {#emotions_dlg.thumbdown}

thanks for all the opinions and support you are so right to ask them how much they will lose by buying one gadget as opposed to 4000 women buying one top again. do the math qvc

The whole shark show was like an over exaggerated infomercial IMHO.

I didn't watch QVC this weekend because of the lousy programming, but did watch a bit of PM Style. Although I turned if off when the show ended, I was surfing through later and at one point practically had to gag when I heard Lisa Robertson trying to justify hour long programs for a single item. She was going on and on with the vendor about how the show was already half over and there was just SO much they hadn't even covered... Get real, It's a VACUUM CLEANER... There simply isn't THAT much to say about a VACUUM CLEANER... ANY VACUUM CLEANER...
