Some people like to save grease , like the grease that comes off when you cook bacon, and reuse it. They strain it and save it, using a grease pot.

I think it is a rather old fashioned idea since we now know how bad for us this grease is.

This is a common item found at Walmart,  Wayfair, Zulilly and even Amazon.

They are sold in many stores with the kitchen items.

I personally just use an old coffee can.  It never reuse the grease.  I just collect it to safely dispose of it when it is cold and mostly solid.

Re: looking for metal grease pot

Sorry, but I haven't seen one in my area since the 70's.  I received a set as a wedding gift (early 70's), that included salt and pepper shakers.  I stopped saving my bacon grease in it in long ago, and used the lidded container to store cookie cutters.   It saw the light of day again when I emptied cabinets for my kitchen remodel, and the whole set, along with several cookie cutters, went in the garbage.   I keep some fresh bacon grease in a small jelly jar in the fridge for seasoning certain foods.

Search for "grease can with strainer," and you will find several on Amazon..

For those who don't know, saving and using grease, particularly bacon grease, is a secret of good cooks and chefs everywhere.  Bacon grease can easily be frozen.

I save all my bacon grease to use later.  I have a vintage grease can and keep it in the fridge.  Bacon grease is not bad for you.  Things like processed fake butter are bad for you.

All things in moderation.  Bacon grease is certainly not "good" for you; however, I'd choose it over processed, polyester, stuff any day.
