Hi, @Nan987 !  I am normally an 8.5 wide and find that the L'Artiste line fits me like a glove in size 39.  The width of my feet is due to bunions on both but this line within Spring Step is very accommodating.  I have mostly boots and sandals that are peep-toe, not those with a cut over the vamp (like a Mary Jane), since I think those could be problematic for my bunions.  I just got these last week, L'Artiste Siren; I now have blue and green.

Apparently wide widths aren't big sellers.  They aren't going to stock merchandise they can't sell.  I'm not sure L'Artiste makes any wides.  Their shoes tend to run small.

I think the real reason retailers hesitate to carry wide widths is that "wide" means different people.  I shopping channel world, a wide width is what used to be  C/D width.  Wider than B but not the E widths.  So women who are the E widths buy them and then return them.  It's doubly problematic with European sizing since European shoe companies don't make many wide widths in fashionable shoes. They would have to special make them for Americans and easier said than done and expensive.
