Quality has gone downhill, prices are high and shipping is a joke.  Having to pay shipping and handling for each item even when ordering several of the same item?  Who does that?  The sizes are inconsistent now.  Used to know my size with D&Co and now it's hit and miss.  Returns are not handled promptly and getting the money back takes too much time.   I had to call to get my money back.  Many items are available much cheaper someplace else even when on sale on QVC.  Shipping is free with a certain Dollar amount at other companies so are returns.  I have been a long time customer and used to love QVC.  Now my last order probably was my last order!

Re: Why order from QVC anymore?

I understand your complaints and believe they are legitimate. But, many people are unable to get out to shop or do not have the availability of the items in their area. The population is aging and many people have mobility issues or issues with transportation so QVC is a need for them.

Re: Why order from QVC anymore?

I only buy things from QVC that I can't find elsewhere or are cheaper here (and yes, there are some).

Some people buy "everything" from Amazon.  I find many things there to be priced higher than I can find elsewhere, so I buy elsewhere.

If you can find items cheaper and of better quality elsewhere, it would be foolish to buy them at QVC.

But every retailer has a website.  40 years ago when TV shopping started that wasn't the case.  No reason to go to a store anymore and if people have the ability to order from QVC/HSN, i.e, a computer, they can order from any other store that in all likelihood has better prices and shipping.

Re: Why order from QVC anymore?

I can't speak to buying clothing on QVC, but I'm one who buys home decor from QVC. Here's my story.

I'm not a decorator, I don't drive to HomeGoods and Hobby Lobby every day to pick through what they have to offer. Not that I don't like to do it, but Hobby Lobby is 30 minutes away, and HomeGoods kind of confuses me. My SIL could spot a bargain a mile away. Not me.

QVC has helped me decorate my house for every season, and I've been able to send my DD and DIL many beautiful  items, which they have loved.

QVC offers decor items I have not found on other online sites or B&M stores. A great example would be the Bethlehem Lights faux oil lamps being offered today. I bought them for my children last year, and they just loved them. They remember the antique oil lamps we have and wanted something like them but kid friendly. The battery life is better than anything you would find at a craft store or on Amazon. (6-9 months!)

Re: Why order from QVC anymore?

What are "better" prices?

I do not understand this conversation.

I order from QVC because I LOVE the products!

I started shopping on QVC for gold jewelry first, because the prices were competetive, the designs were unique, and there was a lot of variety.

I think the same thing about QVC fashion.

I have been a shopper my entire life.  There are ALWAYS sales everywhere, one just has to know the best moments. The same is true with QVC. Yesterday was all day free shipping.  Every day there are lunch-time and prime-time specials, and some of the prices are ridiculously cheap!! The "as-is" section has amazing prices.  Prices always come down as the seasons change.

I still shop at brick and mortar stores all the time.  Clothes are a tremendous bargain in this country, even designer names.

I find QVC casual clothes much prettier, better made, and more comfortable than many other places.

On the whole, I think QVC is pretty great. I like some of the clothing lines very much and I appreciate being able to see many of them in the videos or TV. I don't think their shipping price is too much. It would be great if we received items quicker, but it's not that big of a deal. I like the beauty item bundles as the price is usually very good. I like some of the other items that I would not even know about if they were not on QVC.....like those Kuhn Rikon scissors or Lug handbags. I shop plenty of other places, too, but I appreciate QVC.

Some people do not feel safe ordering online, I know people who do not have a computer or Wi-Fi. They phone their orders into QVC. People have different comfort zones and I respect the fact that QVC works well for them.
