Why Can’t QVC Hire Someone to Check Reviews?

I am going to vent here:

I went to check an item and see what the reviews were. I was surprised that a newer item from a brand I like had a one-star review, out of three reviews.

Every single one of them had NOTHING to do with the item! They were all about shipping problems.

I hope posters will keep in mind these "reviews" don't help us at all. If you want to vent do it on the forums or email the Social Team!

And I wish QVC would censor reviews like this! I am tired of spending time reading these!   Smiley Mad

QVC DOES have someone hired to screen reviews.  Apparently they have loosey-goosey criteria that allows everything except porno.  I'm frankly surprised that the reviews are as good as they are.

@Kachina624 - I didn't know this. IMO they should jettison any review that is not specifically about the item!

WHY would they think we'd be interested in reading "reviews" like this - that don't necessarily reflect well on QVC either?

Those employees who review the product reviews need to be replaced.  Allowing people who haven't purchased the product is not acceptable.

@beach-mom   I completely agree.  QVC has the world's most useless reviews.

@mspatmac    For whatever reason, they're doing what they're told to do.  Maybe the Q doesn't want honest, accurate reviews?

@Kachina624 @beach-mom   Maybe they should hire a bunch of us, we sure could do a much better job 😂

Re: Why Can’t QVC Hire Someone to Check Reviews?

I find most of the reviews posted are of little value.  Especially the reviews on clothes.  The posters say  "I can dress it up or down", "I received so many compliments", I was so excited to get this and it didn't let me down", "I love it and I'm planning on wearing it to church, or a party, or a wedding", and then there is the "True to size" review..... (but they never explain their size so we can compare what "true" is).  And the review continues to tell us nothing that we need to know about the fit of the garment.  For instance, tell us what size you are?  How tall are you"?  Do you have hips and a butt, is your weight more in your middle, are you flat chested or big busted?  Most reviews say nothing that would help us understand how the garment might look on our body.  We can figure out on our own where to wear the garment.  It's all about the fit on the size body you have.  Because if you have success with the garments fit and I am built similar to your description, then I am going to order the garment with the hopes that I will be as successful as you.  Whatever, I've posted about this before and not much has improved.  So I don't order and that way I save lots of money on returns.

Re: Why Can’t QVC Hire Someone to Check Reviews?

With clothing there should be mandatory categories such as fit - too large or too small or true to size or the review will not be accepted.  I hate the ones that say I didn;t get it yet and cannot wait.  Reviews shouldn't be allowed for at least a week after receiving the product and should have a way to amend or edit.  I have often thought a product was the greatest, not up to par only to find a week later it malfunctioned or fell apart in the wash or I didn 't like it but with use changed my mind about it.  That would be most helpful!

@mspatmac   QVC would be out of business if the Forum did the reviews.
