ROFL at the irony and hypocrisy.

@Trinity11, There's a phenomenon called "hate-watching." It's basically viewing a show, or a person, or even following someone on social media (even though we don't like the show or the people) "for the purpose of the enjoyment one derives from mocking or criticizing." It's become a "sport" encouraged by social media (including chat forums). Not that this is the reason for all those who continue to watch and then ridicule and disparage the same shows/hosts, but I really do think it explains some of this odd, recurring, dysfunctional cycle.
Kind of like negativity is contagious... And yes, it's kind of like a new sport.
AKA: Pack mentality.
@KingstonsMom, @Trinity11, The term's been around for several years. I first stumbled upon it when I was online looking up info about NBC's "The Sound of Music Live." I saw an article about groups gathering to watch the show with the intent to Tweet their ridicule of the performances. Turns out the term is widely used (Google search hits are astronomical). At first I was shocked... but then after reading some of the articles I realized we've seen this kind of thing for a long, long time. If you think about it, it's even similar to watching some "cult" favorite shows or movies that originally were intended to be serious endeavors but turned out to be humorous, and some critics feel that's what most reality-tv-show viewers are doing. In a similar vein, we do it here with threads that we can anticipate will "go south".... someone posts the deer eating popcorn or an image of a train wreck, but many posters watch what transpires. We're funny, complicated critters, us human beings.🙃

Hate watching? Pack mentality? Calling posters hypocrite's and other names is hate watching isn't it?

That's not calling posters names. Those are social phenomena, activities common to human beings. It's an interesting discussion, a good way for us to learn more about what makes us "tick."

Have you forgotten all the mean, nasty and absolutely horrible things you have said about Shawn before the mods cracked down? Unbelievable. A constructive opinion is one thing. A mean, mean, mean attack is not the same.
