I'm all for options - like that ignore button!
Please put it on your priority spending list.

With the more stringent rules here, I understand why some people really want the ignore feature back. Some have a hard time with self-control and this will help them refrain from saying things that might get them into trouble with the moderators. It's a helpful feature in that way.

Well, in the grand scheme of things, the ignore feature isn't a concern of mine.
but I do have to say that Keyai seems to be an okay mod! And I'm not trying to brown nose here..not here often enough to "move up in the ranks".
I post from time to time, and say what I think each time. That's my thought for today.

I think what bugs me about the Ignore feature is the chatter that goes along with it...
--I'm going to put you on ignore!
--If you don't like what I have to say, just put me on ignore!
--Just put that poster on ignore!
--Why isn't anyone responding? Did I get put on ignore?
Must say I'm glad we won't be dealing with that in 2015. ![]()

Yes...even though many people might use it and just keep quiet as to who they have on ignore..others make a big deal with declaring it publicly, on the board.
I think it's for the best, for this board, to not have it.

a poster used to announce her ignore thread quite a bit. She did it to bait
most people do not announce it - in fact, she was the only one that I remember proudly starting threads about it.
I think an ignore feature is a good thing.

Well, then, for those who say they don't want the ignore feature, you might get the opportunity to ignore the posts from those who chatter about the ignore button.
You know, there are plenty of people who either are learning how to use something, or don't understand how to use something, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be available for those that do.

Be honest, don't you do it daily in real-time?
I agree with you. I never used this feature in the old forums and, overall, preferred to just skip over posts and posters of my choosing. Still, for those who value and miss it, I can't see that it would hurt anything to have it... It's another option and I'm all for options!
I don't think I ever fully understood that ignore button until recently when someone pointed out a few things to me. I even called it a crutch I think....something I regret saying. I have never used it and don't feel the need to....but who knows....some day I might....and it is an option for those whose experience improve here because of it. Every once in a while I stick my foot in my mouth.

For those who say we ignore things in real time, yes, we do.
BUT, we also have tools. We can now block unwanted phone numbers, or email, or even cut ourselves off from certain people in life. No, not always, but the tools help. So does the ignore feature here.
