Sorry for the repetition, but I posted this as a new thread, and it occured to me it might be a temporary, quick and dirty way to switch back and forth and "push" some of the busy gamer threads (no offense intended, gamers) off the first page of Community Chat, since most of their "start dates" are old.
Choose the option "Sort by Topic Start Date"
We have an option which allows us to choose the sort sequence of topics in a forum (among other choices).
Look at the top of the threads, above the word "Subject" and to the right of "NEW MESSAGE."
The "Options" drop-down menu allows us to toggle between:
"Sort by Latest Post Date"
or
"Sort by Topic Start Date"
There are other options, too, but these 2 might help some of us find the threads with the most recent comments.
hth!

Hi, DooB ... I appreciate your efforts regarding the proliferation of gaming threads in the Community Chat.
It may be a possible solution for some, but until the forum moderators offer a permanent fix by moving the games to a separate forum, I won't be posting there. it's my opinion that it's an insult to our intelligence to think all we want to do is play silly games (no offense to the gamers), so lump them with everything else.
Thanks, but no thanks for your efforts, however.

It would be a simple fix, just make Games a separate forum, as before.
Thanks, dbd, for your effort and ideas.

Hi, @SoX!
Totally understand. I'll bet the Social Team is being flooded with email messages, but I'm considering sending them one about the "Gamers" issue complete with a screen shot of what a page filled with the threads looks like.
I'm not of the opinion that they really want to do away with what was called "Viewpoints," though. I don't ascribe nefarious intent as some have. The fact is that I've seen several bad design elements in this new platform, and I think they simply didn't realize what those game threads can do to a sub-forum.
It's a shame they didn't allow a collection of regular users to beta test the forum before launching it.

You're welcome, @Suziepeach!
Just a quick and dirty way to live with what we've been handed so far.
