Temp-tations becoming a disappointment for many

I belong to a group on Facebook for Temp-tations collectors. There has been a lot of disappointments in how Tara's products are being received broken. Some from QVC and others from Tara's own site. It seems when someone calls customer service on Tara's site they are being treated very rudely. Most don't want to help resolve the problem of items being received broken. Some of us are feeling since no one seems to care about packaging and making an order right that we will no longer be purchasing Temp-tations until Tara takes care of the problems in her product.

Items are being received broken and/or hand painted very sloppy. This wasn't always the case but seems to be here recently. I for one will no longer purchase her product until I see her Customer Service Representatives treat customers like they should with respect.

Tara, you are going to loose a lot of customers if you don't do something about the problems we are having.

Well written and so very, very true. I doubt Tara will even see this; seems like all messages, calls and emails are screened so she need not deal with us little people. She's probably in her swivel chair spinning and tossing all our money up into the air letting it rain down on her and her desk. After my situation, that's certainly how I picture it. They are not in the business of caring for their customers, they are in the business to make money and that's that. All the pictures of the smiles and pretty dishes and baked goods she posts are all a phony act. Their customer service is so shoddy that if I were Tara, I would be mortified that that is who is representing my brand.

Re: Temp-tations becoming a disappointment for many

I can't say I've been treated poorly in the few times I've had to call, but that of course, was years ago since I stopped buying when the quality went south.

However, I have been reading what a lot of you ladies and gentlemen have been going through, not only with poor product, but horrendous customer service. The only way to remedy this is, stop buying and be vocal in social media about why you are not buying.

I often feel bad for the people who fell for the hype and actually did get rid of all their old bakeware. Somehow, that was always a suspicious claim to me and I'm glad I held onto 30+ year old Corningware.

Re: Temp-tations becoming a disappointment for many

I have been buying Temp-rations since 2006. I have more sets than I care to count. I have only had one occasion when I received a broken dish. I called Tara's CS and was treated very well. They replaced the dish without incident. However; I am concerned about the lines I see forming below the glazing in my dishes. Yesterday I used my Fallfetti 9x13 baker to roast a chicken and when I hand washed it, I could see these lines appearing. This is very worrisome. I believe Tara is concerned about her products that she sells. I hope she will; however, check on the quality control of her products.

Well good grief send it back to QVC as a defective item, QVC has top notch CS. I have plenty of things I do not like about the Q, but CS isn't one of them.

Those lines underneath the glazing are actually tiny cracks called "crazing". One of the reasons this happens is due to improper firing of the piece during the manufacturing process. I've had this happen on four of my pieces, one of which I never even used, so I cannot use them in the oven to bake. On a couple of them, I can actually feel a few tiny cracks with my fingernail. I did have one piece replaced before I knew about this, and that one did the same thing after using a few times.

I've kept a limited edition set I bought a few years ago because they can't be replaced, and they're really beautiful. So I might put a napkin in the big one to serve bread or rolls, don't know about using the others for serving since I'm not sure if anything could leach out into the food. Two of the limited edition ones are smaller, but I could probably just use them for display or to put a few pieces of fruit in.

I really do like the green Old World, and I loved the pieces with cherries, but am just afraid to put money into them anymore. I was actually tempted on the Fallfetti cupcake type baker last night, but I resisted!{#emotions_dlg.ohmy}

I'm going back to collecting local pottery and I see the Q has some Polish stoneware again. I never did buy much Temptations or RR,just isn't my style, but I do think it's decent bakeware.

Sad. I'm not a collector because I don't cook much and don't have display or storage space, but I love the casseroles I do have. Just 2, but they're serving me well and I'd be sad they cracked because I've never seen the particular design I have except the day I ordered the set.

That must have been 7 or 8 or even more years back and it seems as if nothing anywhere is the same as it was then.

That's the same as it was when I bought my "limited edition" set. It's not by any chance cream and yellow with a trellis pattern and red roses with green leaves, is it? Just wondering - I've never seen this one since I bought it, and it's been a number of years. Smile

Re: Temp-tations becoming a disappointment for many

kittymom- we have different patterns. The Temptations casserole dishes I have are green, rose, and kind of beigy, but the colors are stripes, not flowers and trellis. I love the way the cook and clean - and the way they make the food look so appealing.

I'm from the generation where the casseroles of choice were Corningware. I still have many of those pieces, most more than 50 years old. They work well, but my Temptations just make everything look better than it is!
