QVC needs to removed Cruelty Free for tarte Cosmetics!!! The parent company, who now owns Tarte is Kose Corp. In 2014 Japan's Kose company purchased a 93.5% stake in Tarte Cosmetics. Kose is a Japanese cosmetics brand that also tests on animals.Mar 18, 2014. After Maureen sold her company Tarteproducts started beng made in China.Same thing happened with Smashbox.Sad thing is thousands of Chinese factories and stores are now in Italy. They can label their products made in Italy, even if the standards are different. Some IT items are made in China too.Jun 1, 2017.”

Agree. Even though Tarte is cruelty free, the company that owns them tests on animals and, in reality, the money that Tarte makes, eventually filters up to the parent company. So if you purchase Tarte products, in some way you are still supporting testing on animals.

Thanks for mentioning this...
People need to realize that even though a company SAYS they are CF, if their parent company tests on animals, then they are not truly CF..
Money goes into their pockets to allow more animal testing!
I check all companies before purchasing cosmetics...
If they are sold in China, that is a no go, too..
I really do not need all of that fluff if it involves animal testing..
There are still many cosmetic companies that do not test on animals..
Takes a little time to check, but it can be done...

Won't buy from Tarte b/c of this and from Too Faced for their unconsionable handling of a beauty influencer who collabed with them. What a rip off.

@pommom - Who was the influencer that you're talking about and what happened?
This is probably regarding Nikki Tutorials and the collaboration she did with Too Faced cosmetics in 2016. There were approx 150,000 palettes sold and it was speculated to have netted between $8-$15 million in sales. Nikki signed a contract that earned her a flat fee of $50,000 for the deal.
She has since come out to say she had been naive but takes responsibility for not seeking legal advise before signing the contract. However, she also alleges that Too Faced changed the formula behind her back and the palette she and other influencers received in PR was a totally different formula than what was sent out to customers. The palette got dismal reviews for lacking pigment, not swatching well, having fallout, not wearing well, etc. Nikki claims it has taken years, and the help of OFRA cosmetics, for her to trust another company and to earn back the trust of her subscribers.
All this happened years ago but it was brought up on social media again recently in Shane Dawson's eight hour documentary commercial called the "The Beautiful World of Jeffree Star" featuring the Shane x Jeffree "Conspiracy" palette collab. In one of the videos Jeffree called out the co-founder and director of Too Faced cosmetics, Jerrod Blandino, for being shady and underpaying Nikki which by all accounts seems to be true.
