The Q-mercial programs (1 hr for 1 product) is not in my "tolerance" threshold, even for background noise. But I do smile more these days when I see my credit card balance owed going down - down - down. Thank you QVC !

I am thinking that the Bose and Sleep Number folks, et al., pay for their air time on the Q. That has to be the reason they have HOURS devoted to those products.

Mine aren't showing much of a decrease yet, but I can see that the orders are much farther and much fewer between, so maybe there's hope.

If they were not making a small fortune on these shows, do you honestly think they would keep airing them because of the ease of production? Of course not!
Look at that financials and you will see that they are selling less items per customer at a higher cost and that the high S/H is where they are making their profit on. If they aren't there to entertain us, why do they bring in all these wannabe celebrity designers, have a shows in LA during the Oscar week, have hosts doing a happy dance, hire executives that have an entertainment business background, etc...?
While shopping networks are in the business to make money, that have to ways to make their programming entertaining too watch. If viewers are finding the programming boring and turning channel, they will loose customers. For the majority of the time that they have been on air, they where found ways to be entertaining while still being a business.

looked at the may insider... doesn't look much different than the april for weekends. Guess the mention this morning Susan made about May 8 and maxi skirt, looks like it might be another TSV day for her. QVC has moved from "toon town" status to "ground hog day" status.. as in repeat, repeat and repeat...

Actually, I agree that programming has to be at least remotely entertaining for them to succeed in their goals. Most folks are not going to stay tuned in and be bored senseless... To be sure, sales is their objective, and part of maximizing sales would seem to be to retain an interested audience. There is a middle ground between sales and entertainment and they seriously need to find it.

I agree, weekends are a real bore. Sick of the same 'ole things. I assumed they had purchased too many Dyson or Kitchen Aid or mattreses, and lately those outdoor chairs, (not sure how it works, or maybe they contracted for a certain amount) and so have to keep airing it to try to sell out or fill their commitment. But however it works, I would think they would mix it up more. Like other's I just don't watch on the weekends now at all.

Yeah, weekends are awful. It's always either a dyson, a bed, or a computer TSV which means the whole day is one hour shows with only one product.

What happens when everyone gets so bored with the same old programming and the same old products? They start looking elsewhere to shop and before You know it..sales for QVC start to drop. You can only run one or two products into the ground before most people either have them already or no longer want to hear about it.
