Thank you.
I guess - if it isn't your post that was removed, you don't need to learn from it. You weren't the one doing something against standards.
I would rather learn from the mistakes of others than make mistakes myself.
I think if we're very lucky we
learn from both.
😊

I don't think a lot of the posters learn from the mistakes of others or the same kind of posts wouldn't be deleted again and again.

I see the problem being that we don't necessarily know the content of the posts that are deleted, which is the reason that I began this discussion.

I think we all have a pretty good idea if we post something that may be offensive, snarky, against standards, etc.

Before the change, people were constantly complaining about things being poofed with no explanation. Now an explanation is provided.

This post has been removed by QVC because it is name calling.

The problem is that we don't necessarily know the content of the posts of others that are deleted, so to read that the post was "political," for example, doesn't provide sufficient information for us to learn much at all... particularly since there are posts that have been up since 11-13-14-15. This is all so subjective.

I think the posts are not left showing, b/c it might be challenged too much and by too many people. And the challenges might make perfect sense. And some might see that too many posts are being removed for not very good reason.
I had a post removed, saying it was too political. There was nothing at all political about it. When I said exactly that, that post was removed.
If my innocent post was removed, there must be many others that are, too.
I think it would be advantageous for the post to be shown and reason stated.

I am still looking for a post I made a week ago ..... I have no idea if it was poofed, or I just forgot which thread it was.
Too bad poofed comments can't automatically generate an email alert to the poster, so they can be aware and correct their future posting behavior.

Some posters on this Forum say nasty things about hosts and previous hosts. I think those are the postings they general remove. This is fine with me. I get tired of those host bashing postings. They are boring.
